Frequently Asked Questions

Where are your psychotherapy sessions based?

I offer in-person therapy in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, and online therapy across the UK.

What happens in an initial season?

This will be all about getting to know one another and seeing if we are a good fit. Research has shown that the best predictor of success in therapy is the strength of the relationship we form together, so this is important.

I’ll usually ask you to tell me a bit about what has brought you to therapy and why now in particular. I will tell you something about how I work and there will be an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you have about the process.

By the end of the second session we’ll discuss if we feel working together feels right. If I feel I am not the best person for you then I’ll come back to you within a week with a list of alternative psychotherapists and/or counsellors based in Leamington spa or online with availability, who think would be more suitable.

If we both feel we would work well together then we’ll commit to doing so on a weekly basis.

What areas do you work with?

I work with a range of issues but some areas I have particular clinical experience or training with are listed below:

  • People repeating unhelpful patterns in their romantic relationships, friendships or working relationships

  • Survivors of sexual violence, rape, sexual assault and sexual exploitation and childhood sexual abuse

  • People wanting to process difficult childhoods, emotional neglect, abuse, relationships with emotionally immature parents and intergenerational trauma

  • People struggling with self esteem issues or low self worth

  • Queer / gay / lesbian / bisexual / gender diverse / LGBTQ+ clients

  • People navigating big life choices and transitions e.g. divorce and break ups, questions around sexuality, new parenthood, whether to become a parent etc

  • People struggling with compulsive sexual behaviours or who are having an affair or have discovered their partner has had an affair

  • People who have tried a variety of holistic, new age and/or wellness approaches to help them feel better but are still struggling and aren’t quite sure why

If you are unsure whether I work with the issue you are bringing please ask.

Sometimes people aren’t exactly sure why they are seeking out therapy or why now and that’s totally ok, finding out can be part of the work we do together.

What is your fee?

I charge £80 per 50 minute session. I have some lower cost sessions available for people struggling financially.

What is your cancellation policy?

Once we commit to working together, sessions are paid monthly in advance by direct debit. Sessions that you miss or cancel are not reimbursed.

Your weekly session time is reserved specifically for you. Keeping a consistent session time and structure is an important part of creating a reliable and containing therapeutic framework, which supports depth and continuity in the work.

Two week breaks in the therapy will be taken at Christmas, Easter and over the summer holidays.
